Our Challenge. We´re in a race against time. It is universally recognised in Portugal as it is all over the world of the necessity for an active political orientation to safeguard the environment. Social progress and economic prosperity have been dependent of activities that destroy the planet´s resources and cause pollution. The products we need and the vital services we utilise, from transports to health care systems, utilise these resources and generate as sub-products the residues and pollution.
With the passage of time, the planet´s extraordinary regenerating capacity has permitted to face the environmental impact of all human activity. But, this capacity has reached its limit. It´s imperative to re-establish a situation of equilibrium as soon as possible. Our environment is threatned in various forms, sometimes correlated. There are no fragmented answers. For this reason, one must develop a global integrated strategy that reflects this reality.
